Meet the Meal Genie 20th December 2016

Hi guys,

Whenever I stumble across a new website or company I always go to the blog section to have a little nosy about what the people are all about – so here goes!

My name is Lauren and I am the founder of Meal Genie. Meal Genie (if you don’t know by now!) is a lifestyle subscription service designed to empower our customers to be able to create healthy delicious meals at home. We deliver you the freshest ingredients and recipes and take the hassle out of creating dinners at home.

The concept of Meal Genie was born due to my own frustration at not being able to feed myself and my husband nutritious delicious meals at home.

Having worked as an accountant for 10 years I was always time poor and hated having to go to the supermarket on the weekend. It felt like the little spare time I had was being robbed so instead of the “weekly shop” I would make multiple trips to the supermarket every week spending a small fortune and also spending multiple hours researching recipes.

For me the answer was simple I wanted to cook but I didn’t want to have to make these multiple trips, waste food and also come up with new and inventive things to cook every week. I thought there were surely some other people out there who thought the same!

In the last couple of years I started training to become a nutritionist and the concept of food as fuel and the idea that diversity in the diet became more and more important to me. For more on what healthy eating means to me and the ethos of Meal Genie check out my blog on healthy eating.

Meal Genie is all about customer empowerment. We want to be able to show people that creating healthy delicious meals at home does not need to be difficult and the time you spent cooking can be spent in a fun way where you can learn about the food you cook and how to nourish your body.

We want to give you your time back and let you enjoy the fun creative skill that is cooking!

Have any questions for me? I’d love to hear from you (lauren@mealgenie.ie)
